Landscape Lighting FAQ
Are there different kinds of landscape lighting?

Yes.  There are three types of landscape lighting systems; low voltage, high voltage and solar powered lighting.

Low-voltage lights, which are wired to a transformer, connect to a home's electrical circuit. The main advantages of low-voltage landscape lighting are that they use only 12 volts of electricity. In addition, they are easy to install.  The disadvantage is they are usually of lesser quality like those in the big box retail stores.

High-voltage landscape lighting requires a unique electrical circuit and professional installation by a licensed MacGregor electrician. While these systems use slightly more power they can accommodate more fixtures without a significant voltage drop.  Then, if you decide to expand your lighting scheme in the future, a high-voltage system is the way to go.

Solar landscape lighting systems don't require any wiring at all. They're environmentally friendly and cheaper to operate, but not very practical in some regions. In addition, they are typically not as sturdy as the professional high-voltage systems.
MacGregor has been creating beautiful landscape lighting designs all across the area.  Let us show you how lighting can create a new outdoor environment, all night long.

Other than beauty, what are some uses of landscape lighting?

For many people, landscape lighting is in place to provide one role:  security.  It is a well know fact that a home with exterior lights is less likely to be the target of robbery or vandalism.  For others, landscape lighting provides a clear and safe path for walking around the property.

But, by far the most popular use of landscape lighting to make better use of outdoor leisure and entertainment areas. Landscape lights add dramatic effect to natural and man-made landscape features.   MacGregor can develop a landscape lighting plan that can turn an ordinary home into a showstopper!
