What Does Quality Mean To You?

Being the Quality Assurance Manager here at MacGregor for the last few years has been very interesting, to say the least.  What do MacGregor customers expect when we come out to do a job for them?  What do we at MacGregor expect of ourselves as far as the level of quality when we are on a job?  I would like to think that we expect more than the customer does, and that we live that philosophy every day on every job, in everything we do.
I started by looking up the definition of Quality Assurance and found it interesting that people often equate Quality Assurance as Quality Control. There is actually quite a difference between the two.  Quality Assurance means making sure you are doing the right things, the right way.  Quality Control means making sure the results of what you have done is what you expected.  With that said, we strive very hard here at MacGregor to provide Quality Assurance and Quality Control on every job we do.

What qualities do you look for in finding the right Contractor for the job?  Here are a few that I would look for when choosing a contractor:

  • How many years have they been in business?  (The longer the better, I want to count on them being there down the road when I have issues.)
  • Are they properly licensed?  (State licenses, liability insurance, Workers Compensation insurance, etc.)
  • NATE certified technicians? (North American Technician Excellence, the only certification recognized by the HVAC industry)
  • Do they offer a variety of services? (Can they address all of your plumbing and heating needs?)
  • Do they provide 24/7 emergency services, all year long? (Will they be there when you need them or do you get an answering machine?)

I feel here at MacGregor we provide these things PLUS much more.  We service the greater Emmet and Charlevoix areas with on time service, a firm, guaranteed, up-front price, free estimates on equipment replacements, 24-hour emergency service every day year round, and so much more.  We guarantee your job will be done right the first time, your home will be cleaner than when we arrived, we drive well-stocked trucks, strive to provide 100% customer satisfaction, provide uniforms for all employees and always wear booties to protect your home.  We abide by county and state mechanical and plumbing laws to guarantee we are protecting the health, safety and welfare of your family and our communities.  We pull permits and ensure quality installations backed by inspections and approval of local code officials.

We have a wealth of support and knowledge from within our own company, the support of all of our suppliers, and constantly provide training year round for all employees to keep us up to date on the most technological advances in the HVAC industry.  We hire only the best of the best and ensure our employees are background checked and drug free.  We look for employees who want a rewarding career with the best benefit package available and encourage them to grow and constantly learn.  We want employees who have the desire for quality work and the highest customer satisfaction, and back this up by constantly asking for online reviews, customer comment cards and testimonials.  When we find areas of improvement, we focus on them and correct them.

Thank you for choosing MacGregor as your number one choice for a plumbing and heating contractor in Northern Michigan.  We know there are others you could choose and we appreciate your confidence in us.

We are "THE ONE YOU CAN RECOMMEND"!

  • "John followed up to a previous visit. He promised to service and flush our water heater. For this follow up visit this past Monday 6/15/20, he arrived on time and quickly went to work. He not only flushed the water heater but also replaced the elements that were in bad shape. John was professional and extremely responsive and did an excellent job! " Read More
