What Does Quality Mean To You?

Being the Quality Assurance Manager here at MacGregor for the last few years has been very interesting, to say the least.  What do MacGregor customers expect when we come out to do a job for them?  What do we at MacGregor expect of ourselves as far as the level of quality when we are on a job?  I would like to think that we expect more than the customer does, and that we live that philosophy every day on every job, in everything we do.
    
           I started by looking up the definition of Quality Assurance and found it interesting that people often equate Quality Assurance as Quality Control. There is actually quite a difference between the two.  Quality Assurance means making sure you are doing the right things, the right way.  Quality Control means making sure the results of what you have done is what you expected.  With that said, we strive very hard here at MacGregor to provide Quality Assurance and Quality Control on every job we do.

 

            What qualities do you look for in finding the right Contractor for the job?  Here are a few that I would look for when choosing a contractor:

  • How many years have they been in business?  (The longer the better, I want to count on them being there down the road when I have issues.)
  • Are they properly licensed?  (State licenses, liability insurance, Workers Compensation insurance, etc.)
  • NATE certified technicians? (North American Technician Excellence, the only certification recognized by the HVAC industry)
  • Do they offer a variety of services? (Can they address all of your plumbing and heating needs?)
  • Do they provide 24/7 emergency services, all year long? (Will they be there when you need them or do you get an answering machine?)
