Heating (15)

The cool fall weather is almost here! As homeowners embark on autumn adventures like pumpkin picking excursions, pumpkin spice lattes and fall sightseeing, we want to remind you that fall is the predecessor to winter!

Regular thermostats let you adjust the temperature in your home—it's just a control panel for your heating and air conditioning system. Programmable thermostats let you set the temperature and have the thermostat change it based on the time of day. What makes most smart thermostats so "smart"...

Winter is one of the harshest times of the year, not only because of the cold weather, but because of the stress on your wallet! Everyone has their heat pumping overtime, so wouldn’t it be great to find some way to stay warm without breaking the bank? Here are 10 easy tips to save energy and money on your heating this season with these energy saving tips.

With the cold weather here, our homes are tightly sealed and our furnaces working to keep to keep us warm. With today's tightly sealed and well insulated homes, carbon monoxide can accumulate to hazardous levels in a short period of time. Therefore, it's critical to have working carbon monoxide detectors in your home.

Why A Whole House Humidifier Could Be Your Solution!

It’s that time of year again! The time when touching a door handle can give you a jolt of static shock, and your hair provides enough electricity to power a light bulb. If you and your family are tentatively touching metal, and using Static Guard on everything, you are experiencing these events because the air in your home is overly dry. It might be time to consider a Whole House Humidifier to wipe out that desert feeling.

When temperatures drop to freezing lows, heating and plumbing problems are very common.  There are many things that homeowners can do to prevent these problems that have the potential to cause severe damage to your home.

The Importance Of Humidity Control

Written by

The winter brings great fun.  Especially when we have a full blown winter like we have had this year.  Those of us who like to frolic in the snow on ski’s and snowmobiles have had a perfect year to do that.  However, the cold weather can also bring other things that aren’t so fun to deal with.  One of those things is over-dry air.  Turning your temperature up during the winter to warm your home will keep you and your family warm, but it will only decrease your home’s humidity level.  Daily activities such as showering, cooking and doing laundry don’t produce enough moisture to keep your home’s air from becoming too dry.

What Does Quality Mean To You?

Being the Quality Assurance Manager here at MacGregor for the last few years has been very interesting, to say the least.  What do MacGregor customers expect when we come out to do a job for them?  What do we at MacGregor expect of ourselves as far as the level of quality when we are on a job?  I would like to think that we expect more than the customer does, and that we live that philosophy every day on every job, in everything we do.

To repair or replace… that’s the question.

A good furnace should last for 10-15 years. But when the old girl is getting too aged to hum, maybe it’s time to start thinking about investing in a new furnace. How do you know when the time is right?

Troops To Trade Veteran Scholarship Program

Most Americans do not know there is a vast shortage of qualified laborers in the plumbing, heating and electrical industries today.  As the Baby Boomers begin to retire within the next ten years, this shortage will reach record numbers with disastrous effects for our nation.  Imagine living in an area of the U.S. where the winter months have snow.  Imagine your heat going out during temperatures of 30 degrees or less, and having to wait four, seven, even ten days for an HVAC technician to respond to your call.  Imagine having a sewer line backup all over your basement, with no plumber available to respond for a week or more.  These are not imaginary future speculations, these are the realities of what we will face in the trades with no young people taking the places of our aging workforce.

He not only flushed the water heater but also replaced the elements that were in bad shape. John was professional and extremely responsive and did an excellent job! " Read More
